About Us
The publisher
The Edition Kainhofer, founded in 2010, is a music publisher for musical gems of the past centuries, which have sunk into oblivion meanwhile. We mainly publish Choir, Orchestra and Chamber Music works of the baroque and classical period, including arrangements for various string ensembles.
In the Eybler-Edition, numerous graduals and offertories of the Viennese Hofkapellmeister Joseph Edler von Eybler, a close friend of W.A. Mozart, who was originally commissioned to finished Mozart's famous requiem, are scientifically edited and published as Urtext editions.
We also publish works by other, formerly famous and highly esteemed Viennese musicians and composers (various Hofkapellmeister and music directors of the Vienna cathedral).
A further line of publications are formed by Chamber Music works, were we also publish new editions for string trio. These arrangements were mainly written by the members of the Aleksić Streichtrio.
The founder of the edition
Dr. Reinhold Kainhofer, the founder of the Edition Kainhofer, studied mathematics and theoretical physics and works as a scientific researcher at the Vienna University of Technology.
His passion, however, is singing (Bass and Bass-Baritone), which he studied with Lia Burger. For example, he is member of the world-famous Arnold Schönberg Choir, of the Wiener Singakademie and of the Choir of St. Augustine. He obtained stage experience in Operas like "La Traviata" (Verdi) at the Musikfestival Steyr or "Carmen" (Bizet) at the Oper Klosterneuburg, and in the ancient Greek tragedy "Antigone" (Sophokles) at the Wiener Volkstheater. He can also be seen as Speaker and Moderator at events like the annual Imperial Ball in the Vienna Hofburg, at Galadinners etc.
